Ingredients
- 200g BMS bacon bits
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: chopped fresh herbs (chives or parsley)
Method
- Preheat oven to 190°C. Grease a 9-inch pie dish or oven-safe baking dish.
- Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove from the skillet, drain on a paper towel, and crumble. Sauté the onions in the bacon fat until soft.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Add cheese, crumbled bacon, and sautéed onions to the egg mixture. Stir to combine.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the centre is set and the top is lightly golden.
- Let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
