{"id":28611,"date":"2024-10-18T11:53:11","date_gmt":"2024-10-18T11:53:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bluffmeatsupply.co.za\/?post_type=recipe&#038;p=28611"},"modified":"2025-11-25T12:28:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T12:28:10","slug":"spicy-red-chicken-curry","status":"publish","type":"recipe","link":"https:\/\/bluffmeatsupply.co.za\/touchscreen\/index.php\/recipe\/spicy-red-chicken-curry\/","title":{"rendered":"Spicy Red Chicken Curry"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Ingredients<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">1kg chicken leg \u00bc\u2019s<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">4 tablespoon oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">2 large onions sliced thinly<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Coriander leaves a handful finely chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>For Marinade<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">1 tablespoon Garam Masala Powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">2 teaspoon cumin powder \/ Jeera Podi<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">1 tablespoon ginger Garlic Paste<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">1 cup Yoghurt<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"x_MsoNormal\">For Grinding<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">5 to 10 Dry Kashmiri Red Chillies<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">6 to 8 Garlic cloves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Method<\/h4>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">1. Place the chicken leg \u00bc\u2019s in a chopping board and cut into two pieces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">2. Take chicken in a bowl, add all the marination ingredients into it and mix well. Leave it to marinate for 30 mins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">3. Take chillies and garlic in a blender and puree till smooth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">4. Heat oil in a pot. Add in onions and saut\u00e9 till golden.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">5. Now add in the chicken along with the marination and saut\u00e9 on high heat for 5 mins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">6. Cover the pot and cook on a low heat for 25 to 30 mins. Stirring in between.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">7. Now the chicken must be cooked, increase the heat, and cook on high heat till the chicken is well seared and oil separates from this. It will take around 10 to 15 mins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">8. Now add in ground chilli masala and mix well. Saut\u00e9 well for 10 more mins till raw smell leaves away.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">9. Add more water and simmer covered till oil floats on top.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">10.
