{"id":33127,"date":"2025-05-02T12:34:06","date_gmt":"2025-05-02T12:34:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bluffmeatsupply.co.za\/touchscreen\/?post_type=recipe&#038;p=33127"},"modified":"2025-09-26T12:37:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T12:37:12","slug":"sausage-and-chorizo-goulash","status":"publish","type":"recipe","link":"https:\/\/bluffmeatsupply.co.za\/touchscreen\/index.php\/recipe\/sausage-and-chorizo-goulash\/","title":{"rendered":"Sausage and Chorizo Goulash"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 class=\"ssrcss-10xft5x-Header e1hdfwc23\">Ingredients<\/h4>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-18v63q4-NumberlessListWrapper e1hdfwc20\">\n<ul class=\"ssrcss-1ynsflq-UnorderedList e1q8fsc70\">\n<li>700g beef sausages, chopped<\/li>\n<li>300g spicy chorizo sausage, chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">1 tbsp vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">knob of\u00a0butter<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">2\u00a0onions, finely sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">1\u00a0garlic\u00a0clove, chopped.<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">2 tbsp\u00a0plain flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">1 tbsp\u00a0smoked paprika<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">2 red\u00a0chillies, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">1 red\u00a0pepper, finely sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">200ml beef stock<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">175ml soured cream<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">1 tbsp chopped fresh\u00a0parsley<\/li>\n<li class=\"ssrcss-1uix24b-Stack e1y4nx260\">cooked long-grain\u00a0rice, to serve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"ssrcss-18258zg-Heading e10rt3ze0\">Method<\/h4>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-15tc05p-ListItemText e10q0gy40\">\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 150C\/Gas 2.<\/li>\n<li>Heat the oil and butter in a large ovenproof frying pan and fry the beef sausages and chorizo for 5-7 minutes, or until browned all over.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the sausages from the pan using a slotted spoon and set aside. Fry the onions and garlic in the same pan for 3-4 minutes, or until softened. Stir in the flour and cook for a further 2-3 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the paprika, chillies and pepper and stir until well combined. Pour in the beef stock, return the beef sausage and chorizo to the pan and cook in the oven for 30-35 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the frying pan from the oven and skim off any fat that\u2019s risen to the surface with a slotted spoon.
