{"id":33321,"date":"2025-05-22T07:18:59","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T07:18:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bluffmeatsupply.co.za\/touchscreen\/?post_type=recipe&#038;p=33321"},"modified":"2025-05-22T07:19:53","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T07:19:53","slug":"pork-shank-stew","status":"publish","type":"recipe","link":"https:\/\/bluffmeatsupply.co.za\/touchscreen\/index.php\/recipe\/pork-shank-stew\/","title":{"rendered":"Pork Shank Stew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Ingredients\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1kg pork shank, sliced<\/li>\n<li>2 cups water<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons vinegar<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons flour<\/li>\n<li>1 onion, peeled and chopped<\/li>\n<li>2 potato, chopped in large chunks<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon garlic powder (or use fresh garlic)<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons salt<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon pepper, coarse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Method\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Wash the slices of pork shank well under a running tap.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Put in a pot with the water and vinegar, bring to a boil, turn heat down, put lid on and simmer 1 1\/2 &#8211; 2 hours until meat is fork-tender but not yet falling apart.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Add the flour, onion, potato, garlic, salt and pepper. Stir through well, bring back to boil, then simmer with lid on for another 1\/2 hour. The meat should now be falling off the bone and everything should be cooked through. The flour should be translucent and have thickened the sauce.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Remove to a serving dish, and sprinkle over spring onion.
